What is peer pressure?
Peer pressure happens when your friend tries to influence you on how to feel, think, or behave. It can be both positive and negative.
Types of peer pressure:
1. Positive peer pressure: When a friend encourages you to do something good like studying for a test or helping others.
2. Negative peer pressure: When a classmate pushes you to do something that you know is not right like skipping class or bullying others.
How to deal with Peer Pressure:
1. Trust yourself- You know what is right and wrong. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.
2. Say "NO" with confidence: It's okay to say no.
3. Use an excuse: If saying "no" feels hard, that make an excuse. EX: "My parents would be upset if I did that".
4. Walk away-Sometimes the best way to deal with peer pressure is to walk away from the situation.
